The Cups Estate

Only a short drive from Blairgowrie is The Cups Estate which opened in 1999. This 30-acre property boasts a vineyard, cellar door, restaurant and olive grove. The Cups Estate produces a range of wines including sparkling, rose, pinot gris, pinot noir, Moscato and Syrah.

Portsea Estate

Portsea Estate has a wonderful location overlooking Bass Strait at the tip of the Mornington Peninsula. The limestone-rich soil provides ideal conditions for growing pinot noir and chardonnay grapes. Their 2017 Syrah was awarded 97 points by James Halliday with many of their pinot noirs and chardonnays being awarded highly too. Portsea Estate also produces excellent extra virgin olive oil.

A lovely spot to check out while you’re staying in Blairgowrie is the Yacht Squadron with its great view of the marina and pier. The Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron is one of the three largest sailing clubs in Victoria. You can also sign up for sailing lessons if you’d like to try your hand at it or have a bite to eat and just enjoy the view.

St Johns Rock Jump (Blairgowrie Jumping Rock)

If you consider yourself a bit of a thrill seeker, you might like to take a rock jump at the end of St Johns Wood Road in Blairgowrie. An incredibly popular spot in summer where you can see people doing all kinds of flips. There are two levels, so it’s recommended to start at the lower jump before venturing off the top one.

Pearse’s Beach

Looking for a beach that’s a bit off the beaten track? Head to Pearse’s Beach which is only accessible via the coastal walk or sand dune track. Just be careful of the rocks and reefs that can pop up unexpectedly when you’re surfing or swimming out there.
