Accommodation in Beautiful Somers

Somers lies on the south-eastern point of the Mornington Peninsula, where it borders Western Port. The town of Cowes on Phillip Island can be seen from any beach in Somers in most weather conditions. Originally known as Balnarring East, it was renamed after the former Governor of Victoria who set up the local Lord Somers Camp.

Somers has three beaches – South Beach, Somers Beach and the tidal flats of Merricks Creek Inlet. It is also a popular spot for sailing being home to the Somers Yacht Club, walking is also popular with great sealed and unsealed paths to enjoy. Somers is well known for its’ Koala Walk, and it’s not uncommon to see koalas or echidnas in the area.
