How do you get to McCrae from Melbourne?
If you want a seaside drive, from the CBD it takes approximately 1 hour along the freeway or 2 hours along the Victorian coast via State Route 33. The quicker option would be to transition from the M1 in Southbank to the Mornington Peninsula Fwy/M11 for the rest of the trip.
For public transport, take a train from Flinders St Station to Frankston, at which point there are buses such as the 781 or 877 that go to McCrae. The whole trip takes approximately 2 hours and 30 mins.

McCrae Beach

McCrae Lighthouse
The McCrae lighthouse was constructed in England in 1874, and then brought to Victoria in order to replace the previous lighthouse, which was a structure made of timber. This lighthouse aided ships along Port Phillip until it was decommissioned in 1994. To this day, it still remains as a testament to the rich history of Victoria.
